Presentation
Artificial intelligence accelerates decision-making but also exposes organisations to criminal penalties and reputational damage. Under EU AI legislation, ensuring AI trustworthiness is now mandatory: every organisation must demonstrate its systems' compliance, from design to disposal.
This intensive 2-day course explores regulation in depth. You will interpret AI Act requirements on high-risk systems, transparency and documentation, then translate them into practical action using ISO/IEC 42001 and the NIST framework. Case studies involving scoring systems, facial recognition and recruitment will train you to produce the evidence auditors expect.
You will leave with a ready-to-use AI governance approach covering impact assessments, a bias register and a post-market monitoring procedure. You will also be ready to take the official EXIN AI Compliance Professional examination, with a mock examination included in the programme (see the Certification tab for details).
Objectives
By the end of this EXIN AI Compliance Professional course, you will be able to:
- interpret the EU AI Act's scope, risk classifications and legal obligations, particularly for high-risk systems;
- structure AI governance by integrating ISO/IEC 42001 for AI management systems and ISO/IEC 23894 or the NIST AI RMF for risk management;
- manage compliance throughout the AI lifecycle, from design and development to deployment and withdrawal, ensuring traceability and data quality;

Module 1: Understanding the EU AI Act's context and fundamentals
- Analysing the European AI regulation's objectives, scope and key definitions.
- Classifying AI systems using the risk-based approach: unacceptable, high, limited and minimal risks.

Module 2: Mastering requirements for high-risk AI systems
- Exploring AI Act Articles 8 to 10 in depth: risk management, data and documentation.

Module 4: Applying compliance frameworks and international standards

Prerequisites
The following prerequisites apply:
- Professional experience: experience in compliance, legal affairs, risk management or project management is an advantage.

- English proficiency: working reading and comprehension skills are required, as the certification examination is primarily delivered in English.
