Self-confidence and mutual trust underpin effective collaboration. In a professional environment that demands agility and cooperation, strengthening self-esteem and asserting yourself appropriately are key skills for healthy, productive relationships.
This 2-day course offers a progressive, experiential approach. You will use self-awareness tools such as the professional tree of life to identify your strengths and barriers. Practical scenarios help you develop assertiveness and positive communication.
The aim is to help you understand yourself better, express yourself confidently and foster a climate of trust. You will leave with an action plan for active listening, considerate feedback and building a lasting trust agreement with your teams.
Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- assess your self-confidence and self-esteem through self-assessment and identify personal barriers such as fear of judgement and perfectionism;
- strengthen self-esteem by identifying your strengths, values and achievements through tools such as the professional tree of life;
- practise positive, considerate communication through active listening and constructive feedback to strengthen relationships;
- identify behaviours that build trust, such as transparency and reliability, and those that undermine it, such as judgement and unspoken concerns;
- build a lasting climate of trust;
- create the conditions for motivation through trust.

1: Strengthening self-confidence
- Identifying the foundations of self-esteem: recognising and accepting yourself, and valuing your strengths.
- Analysing barriers to self-confidence: fear of judgement, failure and perfectionism.
- Refocusing on what you can control and recognising your achievements.
- Exploring assertiveness: balancing self-expression with respect for others.
Introspection exercises and role plays
- Highlight your strengths and achievements using the professional tree of life.
- Identify your responses to fear through the pangolin, porcupine and lion metaphors.
- Use I-statements, clarify your needs and practise saying no assertively.
2: Inspiring and cultivating trust in others
- Understanding how interpersonal trust works.
- Building a team trust agreement.
- Identifying behaviours that build or undermine trust.
- Developing active listening to strengthen relationships.
- Practising assertive, positive communication by distinguishing facts, feelings and judgements.
- Learning techniques for giving and receiving constructive, considerate feedback.
