Presentation
The business analyst plays a key role in IT project management, identifying, defining, analysing and documenting business needs in a functional requirements specification. Business analysts represent user needs during solution definition, contribute to acceptance testing and play a central role in change management through their understanding of the business and its stakeholders.
This 5-day course introduces the key concepts and terminology of the BABOK® Guide (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge), the global reference for business analysts. You will explore its 6 knowledge areas: Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring, Elicitation and Collaboration, Requirements Life Cycle Management, Strategy Analysis, Requirements Analysis and Design Definition, and Solution Evaluation.
By the end of the programme, you will be able to conduct structured business analysis and engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders. You will also be able to support organisational transformation and change management projects. You will be ready to take the official IIBA® exam leading to the Certification of Capability in Business Analysis™ (CCBA®) (see the Certification tab for details).

Day 1: Exploring the business analyst role
- Introduction to the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®).
- Business analysis according to the BABOK Guide.
- The business analyst's roles and responsibilities.
- BABOK terminology.
- The contexts and scope of business analysis work.
- The Business Analysis Core Concept Model (BACCM).
Days 2 to 4: Exploring the 6 BABOK knowledge areas
- Planning and monitoring business analysis activities.
- Eliciting requirements and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Requirements life cycle management.
- Strategic analysis of the context.
- Requirements analysis and solution design.
- Evaluating solutions' operational and organisational performance.
Day 5: Preparing for the CCBA exam
- Advice and coaching for exam success.
- Mock exam and answer review.
- Support with preparing the IIBA application.

Prerequisites
This course requires:
- Theoretical foundations: professional business analysis experience, typically 2 to 3 years.
- Certification eligibility: IIBA requires candidates to meet its own criteria, including 3,750 hours of business analysis experience in the last 7 years and 21 hours of professional development (see the Certification tab for details).
