Certification LPIC-1 : Linux Administrator
LPIC-1 : Linux Administrator is the first level in LPI's professional Linux certification programme. It addresses Linux administration fundamentals, including installation, the command line, files and basic network configuration. Its approach develops knowledge that can be used across different environments rather than relying on a single graphical interface or hardware vendor.
The learning path is relevant to people moving towards administration roles or consolidating early technical experience. Structured preparation can combine practical exercises, documentation reading and simple troubleshooting scenarios. The purpose is to understand the effects of an action before carrying it out and then check the result. Careful system administration practice is therefore a useful theme throughout study. Attending a course and obtaining LPIC-1 are separate steps: the certification requires passing the two examinations specified by LPI. Learners should check the objectives and select preparation suited to their starting level.
