Presentation
Preparation for CCNP Data Center certification.
In the era of cloud and continuous deployment, traditional data centre infrastructures need greater agility, visibility and security. Cisco's Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technology, through Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), addresses this challenge with centralised, automated management based on application policies rather than rigid hardware configurations.
This Cisco DCACI course develops essential skills to configure, manage and troubleshoot Cisco Nexus 9000 switches in ACI mode. It covers the entire fabric life cycle, from device initialisation to virtual environment and advanced service integration.
By the end of the programme, you will be prepared to pass the 300-620 DCACI certification exam, fully included in our offer (see the Certification tab for details). Passing earns the Cisco Certified Specialist Data Center ACI Implementation badge and fulfils the concentration exam requirement towards the higher-level CCNP Data Center credential.

Oo2 works with Fastlane, a Cisco Platinum authorised centre, to organise your certification exams. This partnership enables you to schedule and take official exams directly through partner Fastlane centres.
Objectives
By the end of this Cisco DCACI course, you will be able to:
- describe key Cisco ACI fabric concepts and Nexus 9000 switch models;
- initialise and configure Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) components;
- build logical tenant, Endpoint Group (EPG) and application contract policies;
- implement external Layer 2 (L2Out) and Layer 3 (L3Out) connectivity;
- integrate virtual machine managers (VMMs), such as VMware vSphere, with ACI;
- automate and orchestrate the fabric using programmable APIs and scripts;
- prepare for and pass DCACI 300-620 to earn Cisco Certified Specialist Data Center ACI Implementation and take a key step towards CCNP Data Center.
Program
Module 1: exploring Cisco ACI architecture and components
- Analysing fabric concepts, Anycast Gateway routing and underlying VXLAN encapsulation.
- Understanding the APIC cluster, management information tree (MIT) object database and management interface.
- Specific characteristics of Cisco Nexus 9000 switches in ACI mode.
Practical labs
- Explore the APIC controller's GUI and object tree.
Module 2: initialising and configuring the ACI fabric
- Automatic leaf and spine switch registration through LLDP and DHCP.
- Configuring interface profiles, switch groups and VLAN pools.
- Managing firmware update policies for switches and APIC.
Practical labs
- Validate fabric node discovery and registration.
- Configure physical access policies for server connectivity.
Module 3: managing logical policies and application profiles
- Implementing tenant, VRF and Bridge Domain (BD) structures.
- Creating Endpoint Groups (EPGs) and classifying traffic.
- Implementing internal fabric security through an allow-list communication model.
Practical labs
- Build a complete tenant with a VRF, Bridge Domains and EPGs.
- Deploy contracts and filters to permit inter-EPG traffic.
Module 4: implementing external network connectivity
- Extending VLAN broadcast domains beyond the ACI fabric.
- Routed interconnection with the existing network through OSPF and BGP.
- Configuring external network profiles and applying contracts to outbound network traffic.
Practical labs
- Implement an external L2Out connection to migrate traditional servers.
- Configure a routed L3Out connection with OSPF for WAN access.
Module 5: integrating Layer 4–7 services and virtualisation
- Connecting APIC with VMware vCenter and creating distributed virtual switches (DVS).
- Automatically assigning EPGs to virtual machines during provisioning.
- Inserting L4–L7 services to integrate firewalls and load balancers.
Practical labs
- Integrate a VMware vSphere VMM domain into Cisco ACI.
- Deploy and test virtual server network connectivity.
Module 6: administering and troubleshooting the ACI fabric
- Using Syslog, SNMP and health scores.
- Using Cisco ACI Endpoint Tracker and the fabric's integrated Traceroute function.
- Automating tasks with Postman, REST API requests and simple Python scripts.
Practical labs
- Troubleshoot endpoint connectivity in the fabric.
- Automate EPG creation through REST API calls.
