Presentation
Training with preparation for CCNP Enterprise and CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure certifications
Core technology expertise is the foundation of any modern enterprise network infrastructure. A robust architecture supporting virtualisation, automation and comprehensive security is essential to meeting today's performance and resilience requirements.
This Cisco ENCOR course develops the expertise to install, configure, troubleshoot and manage complex enterprise networks. It provides the essential technical foundation for engineers progressing towards senior responsibilities.
By the end of the course, you will be fully prepared to take the 350-401 ENCOR v1.1 certification exam, which is included in our offer (see the Certification tab for details). This is the common mandatory core exam for CCNP Enterprise and the written qualifying exam for the prestigious CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure expert credential.
Objectives
By the end of this Cisco ENCOR course, you will be able to:
- Illustrate enterprise network design principles, including high availability, SD-WAN and WLAN.
- Implement and optimise Layer 2 technologies: STP, MST and EtherChannel.
- Configure and troubleshoot dynamic IPv4 and IPv6 routing with OSPF, EIGRP and BGP.
- Deploy and manage network virtualisation solutions, including VRF-Lite and GRE tunnels.
- Master infrastructure services and quality-of-service (QoS) mechanisms.
- Secure network access and protect device control planes.
- Explore network automation and programmability tools, including Python, APIs and JSON.
- Prepare for and pass ENCOR 350-401 v1.1 to earn Cisco Certified Specialist - Enterprise Core and complete a key step towards CCNP and CCIE certification.

- Establish GRE tunnels to interconnect sites.
Module 3: Implementing network infrastructure
- Optimising Spanning Tree protocols (MST, RSTP+), VTP and EtherChannel configuration (LACP/PAgP).
- Advanced OSPFv2/v3 implementation and BGP fundamentals: sessions, attributes and route selection.
- RF concepts, wireless controller (WLC) architectures and access point deployment modes.
Hands-on labs
- Optimise the Spanning Tree topology to eliminate loops.
- Configure dynamic OSPF routing in a multi-area environment.
- Establish BGP neighbours and manipulate route advertisements.
Module 4: Administering network assurance
- Using SNMP, Syslog and NetFlow, and analysing packets with SPAN/RSPAN.
- Using Cisco DNA Center Assurance and introducing ThousandEyes for cloud monitoring.
- Configuring IP SLA to monitor latency and jitter.
Hands-on labs
- Analyse application traffic in real time with NetFlow.
- Monitor service availability through IP SLA.
Module 5: Securing enterprise infrastructure
- Implementing AAA (RADIUS/TACACS+), ACLs and Control Plane Policing (CoPP).
- Protection against spoofing and Layer 2 attacks using DHCP Snooping and DAI.
- Understanding EAP, WPA2/WPA3 and WebAuth.
Hands-on labs
- Secure administrative access to routers and switches.
- Configure protection against Layer 2 attacks.
Module 6: Automating and programming the network
- Data formats (JSON, XML), REST APIs and NETCONF/RESTCONF.
- Using Python scripts for large-scale management, and introducing Ansible and Puppet.
- Exploring Cisco DNA Center and vManage automation capabilities.
Hands-on labs
- Query a Cisco device through a REST API.
- Develop a Python script to collect interface status automatically.
