Module 1: Mastering fundamental security concepts
- Analysing attack vectors, malware and data exfiltration tactics.
- Cryptography: encryption, hashing and PKI; Zero Trust architecture and network segmentation.

- Analyse packet captures to identify malicious behaviour.

Module 2: Securing network infrastructure
- Perimeter protection: configuring Cisco Firepower next-generation firewalls (NGFW) and intrusion prevention systems (NGIPS).
- Device security: securing control, management and data planes on Cisco IOS XE routers and switches.
- Virtual private networks: implementing site-to-site VPN, FlexVPN and remote access with Cisco Secure Client.
Hands-on labs
- Configure access and inspection rules on a Cisco NGFW.
- Implement a secure remote-access VPN.
Module 3: Deploying cloud security
- Protecting IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments and understanding the shared responsibility model.
- Cisco Umbrella and Cloudlock (CASB) architecture, and cloud application security with Stealthwatch Cloud.

- Configure DNS filtering and web inspection policies in Cisco Umbrella.
- Integrate cloud services to monitor data leakage (DLP).
Module 4: Administering content security
- Implementing Cisco Secure Email Appliance (ESA) for antispam, antivirus and phishing protection.
- Configuring Cisco Secure Web Appliance (WSA) for application control and HTTPS decryption.
Hands-on labs
- Build content control policies on Cisco ESA.
- Implement authentication and URL filtering on Cisco WSA.
Module 5: Providing endpoint protection and detection
- Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) architectures and advanced threat detection.
- File analysis (AMP), exploit protection and isolation of compromised hosts.
Hands-on labs
- Deploy Cisco Secure Endpoint connectors on endpoints.
- Analyse a malware alert and apply remediation measures.
Module 6: Configuring network access, visibility and policy enforcement
- 802.1X authentication and MAB fundamentals with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
- Collecting and analysing network telemetry through NetFlow and using Cisco Secure Network Analytics (Stealthwatch).
Hands-on labs
- Create authentication and authorisation policies on Cisco ISE.
- Identify anomalous network behaviour through telemetry analysis.
