The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) model was designed to standardise protection of sensitive information throughout the supply chain. This 2-day course provides a structured understanding of the CMMC v2.0 framework. You will explore the 3 maturity levels, practice domains and assessment processes needed to secure Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). It provides a foundation for aligning an organisation's security posture with US federal requirements.
By the end of the course, you will master the fundamental concepts needed to support a compliance initiative. You will also be ready to take the PECB CMMC Foundation certification exam. In the defence sector, the cyber maturity model is a key marker of trust.
Objectives

- understand the model's three maturity levels: Foundational, Advanced and Expert;

Module 1: Understanding CMMC issues and defence fundamentals
- The Department of Defense (DoD) ecosystem and supply chain threats.
- Sensitive data such as Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
- CMMC history and major changes in version 2.0.
Module 2: Mastering CMMC structure and levels
- Detailed analysis of the three CMMC v2.0 maturity levels.
- Study of practice domains and associated security objectives.
- Relationships between CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 and NIST SP 800-172.
- Identifying essential implementation documentation.
Module 3: Implementing assessment and compliance processes
- Preparing for a CMMC assessment: from self-assessment to third-party audit.
- Defining assessment scope and collecting compliance evidence.
- The role of the accreditation body (CMMC-AB) and certified assessors (C3PAO).
- Managing Plans of Action and Milestones (POAM).
Module 4: Preparing for the PECB CMMC Foundation exam
