Presentation

The elevator pitch concept, originating in the United States, is based on the ability to engage and persuade in a very short time: the length of an elevator ride. It is a crucial skill for attracting the attention of decision-makers, investors or potential clients with a compelling message delivered in minimal time.

This one-day course is designed as an intensive workshop. You will learn to write, structure and deliver your message clearly and with impact. The focus is on practice through realistic scenarios so that you can apply your skills as quickly as possible.

By the end of the session, you will be able to present an idea, project or offering in under two minutes. Personalised instructor feedback and repeated practice will help you refine your delivery and master persuasion techniques.

Objectives

By the end of this communication course, you will be able to:
  • define an elevator pitch, explain why it has become essential in meetings, at trade shows and on social media, and understand how it can open doors in under 2 minutes;
  • organise your idea into three parts: hook, proposition and call to action; choose an engaging angle and introduce a memorable hook in the opening sentences;
  • distil your subject into its unique promise, eliminate jargon and deliver a clear message even under pressure;
  • control your voice, including volume, pace and pauses, your body language, including eye contact, gestures and posture, and your silences to strengthen credibility and emotional impact;
  • identify your listener's profile, whether investor, client, recruiter or colleague, and adjust your tone, evidence and call to action in real time, including when interrupted;
  • close your pitch with a repeatable phrase and a striking visual or figure, prompt a question or meeting, and achieve the goal: they understand and want to know more.
