In humanitarian work, preparedness aims to reduce the vulnerability of populations exposed to crises. It also improves the responsiveness and quality of humanitarian action, optimises resource use and promotes resilience by supporting the transition towards development.
This 5-day course develops the skills needed to anticipate, plan for and respond effectively to emergencies and crises. It focuses on proactive preparedness, coordinated efforts and sound resource management. The aim is to reduce negative impacts and ensure a rapid, appropriate response to the needs of affected populations.
The programme is intended for any individual or organisation involved in managing humanitarian operations. Simulation exercises and experience-sharing activities take place at the end of the lessons.
