This 2-day course covers the 5 official Fortinet domains: administration and ADOMs, Device Manager, policies and objects, advanced configuration and high availability, and troubleshooting. Each module combines methodological guidance with official Fortinet labs in real FortiManager environments.
By the end of the programme, you will master centralised administration of large-scale FortiGate estates and be ready to take the official Fortinet NSE 6 — FortiManager Administrator examination, included in our offer. Objectives
By the end of this FortiManager Administrator course, you will be able to:
- Describe FortiManager's key features, manage administrative domains (ADOMs) and perform initial configuration;
- Register devices in ADOMs, install configuration changes using scripts and diagnose issues from revision history;
- Administer policies and objects, manage ADOM revisions, configure workspace mode and import and install policies;
- Configure FortiManager high availability, FortiGuard services and the global ADOM database;
- Diagnose deployment scenarios, resolve import and installation issues and troubleshoot system incidents;
- Prepare for and pass the Fortinet NSE 6: FortiManager Administrator certification examination.

Module 1: administer key features and ADOMs
- FortiManager's key features and integration with FortiAnalyzer.
- Initial configuration, factory settings and the setup wizard.
- Managing administrative domains (ADOMs), their operating modes and security.
Practical exercises
- Perform initial FortiManager configuration and structure a multi-ADOM architecture.
Module 2: orchestrate Device Manager
- Registering devices in ADOMs and template-based provisioning methods.
- Installing configuration changes using CLI scripts and associated best practices.
- Diagnosing issues from revision and configuration history.

- Register a FortiGate device and deploy a configuration CLI script.
Module 3: manage policies and objects
- Policy workflows, policy packages and shared object management.
- Managing ADOM revisions and workspace mode for concurrent access.
- Policy imports and installations, from checking to validation.

Module 4: configure high availability and advanced services
- FortiManager high availability, synchronisation and failover modes.
- Configuring FortiGuard services and FortiManager as a local distribution server.
- Configuring the global ADOM database and shared policies.

- Deploy a high-availability FortiManager cluster and configure the global database.
Module 5: diagnose and resolve incidents
- Common deployment scenarios, including NAT environments.
- Troubleshooting import, installation and database synchronisation issues.
- Resolving system, process and resource utilisation incidents.

- Diagnose a failed policy installation and resolve the identified incident.
Module 6: prepare for the Fortinet NSE 6 — FortiManager Administrator examination

Prerequisites
This course requires:
- Theoretical foundations: completion of NSE 4 FortiGate Administrator (FortiOS) training or equivalent knowledge of FortiGate firewall administration.
- Professional experience: ideally 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience with FortiGate and FortiManager devices.
- Language skills: ability to read and understand English to use official course materials and take the Fortinet NSE 6 FortiManager Administrator examination.
