Presentation
Based on Eclipse, RD Power (Rational Developer for Power Systems – RPG and COBOL Development Tools for i) is a PC-based development environment for maintaining and developing traditional 5250 applications in RPG, COBOL, DDS and CL. It incorporates successors to the traditional PDM, SDA, SEU, RLU and ISDB tools. Combined with RTC (Rational Team Concert), RD Power also supports teamwork and application development governance.
Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to use RD Power to maintain and develop 5250 applications.

- Installing and configuring RD Power.
- Getting familiar with the Eclipse environment.
- Successors to traditional tools in RDi:
- Remote System Explorer (RSE), the successor to PDM.
- Screen Designer, the successor to SDA.
- Report Designer, the successor to RLU.
- The LPEX editor, the successor to SEU.
- Integrated Debugger, the successor to ISDB and STRDBG.
- Getting started with Visual Studio Code.
