Training with PECB Certified ISO 14001 Lead Implementer certification
The ISO 14001:2015 standard sets out the requirements for an environmental management system (EMS), enabling organisations to control their environmental impacts and adopt a sustainable development approach. Since 2024, the standard has also included an amendment dedicated to climate action (ISO 14001:2015/Amd 1:2024), requiring organisations to assess the relevance of climate change within their context and that of interested parties.
This intensive 4.5-day PECB course gives you in-depth knowledge of best practices for implementing an EMS compliant with ISO 14001. You will develop practical expertise to initiate, plan and deploy an EMS, using the PECB IMS2 methodology and other recognised good practices, while ensuring monitoring, continual improvement and preparation for the certification audit.
At the end of this course, you will take the PECB Certified ISO 14001 Lead Implementer certification exam (see the Certification tab for more information). Passing validates your ability to lead an ISO 14001-compliant EMS and support your organisation in achieving a sustainable balance between the environment, society and the economy.
Objectives
By the end of the ISO 14001 Lead Implementer course, you will be able to:
- Explain the fundamental concepts and principles of an environmental management system (EMS) based on ISO 14001:2015.
- Interpret ISO 14001 requirements for an EMS from an implementer's perspective.
- Initiate and plan EMS implementation using the PECB IMS2 methodology and other good practices.

- Interpret the requirements for an ISO 14001 certification audit.

Day 5 (half-day): preparing for the PECB ISO 14001 LI exam
