It sets out development, implementation and continual improvement principles to integrate risk into governance, strategy, planning, management, reporting, policies, organisational values and culture. Applicable to all types of risk and organisations, it helps safeguard financial stability and reputation.
This introductory ISO 31000 course explores the fundamentals of defining and implementing a risk management process and framework in accordance with ISO 31000:2018. You will also learn to adopt straightforward risk management strategies.
By the end of the programme, you will be ready to take the official ISO 31000 examination and earn the Certified PECB ISO 31000 Foundation credential. This individual qualification demonstrates your understanding of fundamental methods, guidelines and risk management practice.
Objectives
By the end of this ISO 31000 Foundation course, you will be able to:
- understand and master basic risk management principles;
- understand the risk management processes defined in ISO 31000:2018;
- understand the strategies, methods and techniques needed to conduct risk management activities effectively;
- pass the examination and earn PECB Certified ISO 31000 Foundation certification.

Day 1
- Introduction to basic risk management concepts in accordance with ISO 31000:2018.
Day 2
- Define and implement risk management processes.
Final half-day:
- Take the ISO 31000 Foundation certification examination (duration: 1 hour).
