Bribery is a critical risk to organisational reputation and sustainability. The new standard ISO 37001:2025 strengthens requirements, incorporating climate considerations, enhanced conflict-of-interest management and a central focus on a culture of integrity.
This 4.5-day course helps you master the changes in the 2025 edition. You will learn to structure a robust anti-bribery management system (ABMS), define the anti-bribery function's role and deploy controls suited to current risks using the methodology PECB IMS2.
By the end of the programme, you will be ready to lead an ISO 37001:2025 implementation or transition project and take the official PECB Certified ISO 37001 Lead Implementer exam, included in our offering (see the Certification tab for details).
Objectives
By the end of this ISO 37001 Lead Implementer course, you will be able to:
- Understand key concepts and practices of an ISO 37001:2025 anti-bribery management system (ABMS).
- Interpret ISO 37001 requirements for an ABMS as the person responsible for implementation.
- Initiate and plan ABMS implementation using PECB IMS2 methodology and other best practices.
- Support an organisation in managing, maintaining and continually improving an ISO 37001:2025 ABMS.
- Prepare an organisation for a third-party ISO 37001 certification audit.
- Prepare for and pass the PECB Certified ISO 37001 Lead Implementer exam to obtain an associated certification.
Program
Day 1: Launching the anti-bribery management system
- Analyse ISO 37001:2025 and bribery-related challenges.
- Characteristics of an anti-bribery management system (ABMS).
- Master fundamental principles and the risk-based approach.
- Initiate the project and prepare for implementation.
- Define anti-bribery objectives aligned with strategy.
Day 2: Planning ABMS implementation
- Analyse the context and existing management system.
- Define the ABMS scope and validate the project.
- Develop anti-bribery policy and roles, including the compliance function.
- Conduct bribery risk assessment.
- Define compliance criteria and legal requirements.
Day 3: Implementing controls and operations
- Structure anti-bribery organisation and management.
- Manage documented information and procedures.
- Implement operational controls: financial, non-financial and gifts.
- Deploy training, awareness and a culture of integrity.
- Manage communication and reporting procedures.
Day 4: Monitoring, auditing and improving the system
- Monitor, measure, analyse and evaluate performance.
- Conduct internal audits and management reviews.
- Address nonconformities and manage corrective actions.
- Lead continual ABMS improvement.
- Prepare for the third-party certification audit.
Day 5 (half-day): Preparing for the PECB ISO 37001 Lead Implementer exam
- Review key points and concepts covered throughout the course.
- Detailed exam overview: format, case scenarios, standalone and scenario-based multiple-choice questions, and competency domains.
- Advice and tips for exam success: question analysis, time management and open-book examination.
