Presentation
Adopted in April 2021 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ISO 37301 is a new standard for compliance management systems (CMS). It replaces ISO 19600, published in 2014. Conforming to this standard supports organisations in pursuing strong growth and sustained success. A CMS based on ISO 37301:2021 requirements provides a range of policies, processes and quality controls designed to promote and strengthen a culture of compliance.
The ISO 37301 Foundation course introduces fundamental compliance concepts and ISO 37301:2021 guidelines for compliance management systems, or CMS. In particular, you will develop an understanding of key CMS elements, including compliance policy, compliance culture, compliance risk assessment and operational controls.
At the end of this 2-day course, you will take the PECB ISO 37301 Foundation examination. Passing allows you to apply for the PECB Certified ISO 37301 Foundation credential. This international certification demonstrates that you have the professional knowledge and skills to join a compliance management function.
Objectives
By the end of this PECB ISO 37301 Foundation course, you will be able to:
- understand and master the foundations, terminology and techniques required for effective compliance management;
- understand ISO 37301:2021 requirements and recommendations for a compliance management system (CMS);
- develop an overall understanding of how to implement ISO 37301:2021 requirements within organisations;
- pass the PECB Certified ISO 37301 Foundation examination and obtain the associated certification.

- Exploring and understanding clauses 4 to 6 of ISO 37301:2021 in a compliance management system.
Day 2
First half-day
- Exploring and understanding clauses 7 to 10 of ISO 37301:2021 in a compliance management system.
Second half-day
- Open, interactive discussion between participants and the trainer, including questions, answers and advice.
- PECB Certified ISO 37301 Foundation examination (duration: 1 hour).
