Presentation
ISO/IEC 17025 is an international standard for testing and calibration laboratories. It provides rules for improving the quality of working processes. Managers must therefore commit to a quality management approach aligned with ISO 17025:2017.
This course introduces laboratory management systems (LMS). You will explore the fundamentals of establishing and managing such a system in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, and become familiar with policies, performance measures, management commitment, internal auditing and related topics.
At the end of the programme, you will take the official ISO/IEC 17025 Foundation examination provided by our partner PECB. It assesses your knowledge of fundamental methods, standard requirements, the model and management approach needed for PECB ISO 17025 Foundation certification.
Objectives
By the end of the PECB ISO 17025 Foundation course, you will be able to:
- understand the role and components of a laboratory management system;
- understand how ISO/IEC 17025 relates to other standards and frameworks;
- master approaches, methods and techniques for implementing a laboratory management system;
- pass ISO 17025 Foundation and earn PECB Certified ISO 17025 Foundation certification.
Program
Day 1: Fundamentals
- Introduction to laboratory management system concepts under ISO/IEC 17025.
Day 2: Requirements
- Assess the requirements for establishing a laboratory management system.
Final half-day:
- Take the ISO 17025 Foundation certification examination (duration: 1 hour).
