Module 1: introductions

Module 2: understand agility and the agile tester's role

• Introduction to agile methods: Scrum, Kanban, XP.
• The values and principles of the Agile Manifesto.
• How an integrated team operates.
• The agile tester's responsibilities and skills.

Practical exercises 

• Analyse a product backlog.
• Identify testing tasks within an agile iteration.

Module 3: testing in an agile context

• Fundamental differences between traditional and agile testing.
• Testing activities within an agile lifecycle.
• Regression management and continuous automation.
• Communicating test status and product quality.

Practical exercise 

• Plan tests for a fictional iteration and analyse roles and responsibilities within an agile team.

Module 4: agile testing methods and techniques

• Test Driven Development (TDD), Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD), Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
• Using the agile testing quadrants.
• Acceptance criteria, user stories and test coverage.
• Exploratory and collaborative testing.

Practical exercises 

• Write user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Implement an ATDD cycle.
• Design exploratory tests.

Module 5: tools for agile projects and quality management

• Task management and tracking tools (Jira, Trello, etc.).
• Continuous integration, configuration management and deployment.
• Using product quality dashboards.

Practical exercise 

• Simulate a stand-up meeting (using agile tools and creating a quality dashboard).

Module 6: prepare for the ISTQB® CTFL-AT exam

• Review of the key concepts assessed in the exam.
• Question-and-answer sessions and targeted in-depth review.
• ISTQB Agile mock exam (timed multiple-choice questions).
