Presentation
Spring Boot is an open-source Java framework that provides a simple way to create standalone, production-ready applications. Built on the popular Spring Framework, it simplifies the configuration and deployment of Spring applications. Spring Boot follows the principle of convention over configuration, allowing developers to focus on business logic rather than infrastructure and boilerplate code.
Spring Boot supports microservices architecture development through service discovery, distributed configuration and monitoring, integrating with other Spring projects such as Spring Cloud. It also supports various data access technologies, including JDBC, JPA and NoSQL databases.
This course introduces you to every aspect of Spring Boot. You will learn to manage any project through 4 key stages: create the project, structure it, configure it, write the code, and finally test and deploy it. Hands-on exercises in an ongoing practical project will help you apply this straightforward development approach and master this modern framework.
Objectives
During this Spring Boot course, you will achieve the following learning objectives:
- create a Spring Boot project and start with auto-configuration;
- initialise a configuration with the Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) API;
- develop a management solution with Spring Data and Java Persistence API;
- create an MVC application with an embedded application server, packaged as a fat JAR or a conventional WAR;
- create a RESTful web service application;
- secure web and REST endpoints with Spring Security;
- master advanced Spring Boot configuration;
- complete the ongoing practical project: develop an application that uses field data from a pharmaceutical laboratory and deploy its API to an Apache/Tomcat web server.
