Presentation
Java Enterprise Edition (Java EE), renamed Jakarta EE, is a platform developed by Oracle for building robust, scalable Java applications for enterprise environments. It provides APIs, specifications and runtime environments that enable developers to build and deploy large-scale distributed applications.
Java EE includes technologies and components such as Servlets, JavaServer Pages (JSP), JavaServer Faces (JSF), Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB), Java Persistence API (JPA), Java Message Service (JMS) and many others. These components support web development, database connectivity, messaging, distributed computing and other enterprise requirements.
This Java EE programming course gives you a thorough understanding of the Java EE (Jakarta) platform and available APIs. The programme begins with a brief review of Java fundamentals, followed by a detailed introduction to Java EE. You will then explore three-tier and n-tier architectures and the concepts of containers and components. Finally, you will examine the different elements defined by this Java specification in detail.
Objectives
During this Java EE course, you will achieve the following learning objectives:
- create and develop an n-tier architecture based on the Java JEE 7 specification;
- implement a data access layer with Java Persistence API (JPA);
- design and develop a distributed architecture with Java Message Service (JMS) and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB);
- design and develop a presentation layer with JavaServer Faces (JSF);
- develop and consume REST web services;
- establish a communication channel between an HTML5 browser and a server using WebSockets;
- complete the ongoing practical project: manage an online library and deploy its API to the Java Tomcat application container.
