Presentation
With the growth of Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI agents, organisations now need to administer an environment extending well beyond traditional Microsoft 365 services. Licensing, data governance, security and autonomous agents add complexity, and the required skills are evolving accordingly.
This one-day course provides the foundations to administer a Microsoft 365 environment that includes Copilot. You will explore key Microsoft 365 service capabilities, data protection and governance principles applied to Copilot, and the essential administrative tasks for managing Copilot and AI agents within your organisation.
By the end of the programme, you will be ready to take the AB-900 exam, included in our offer. Passing it earns you Microsoft 365 Certified: Copilot and Agent Administration Fundamentals, which succeeds MS-900 within this scope (see the Certification tab for details).
Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- identify key Microsoft 365 service features and objects;
- apply fundamental security principles, including Zero Trust, to a Microsoft 365 environment;
- understand Microsoft Entra's identity and access management capabilities;
- understand data protection and governance principles for Microsoft 365 and Copilot using Microsoft Purview;
- identify how Copilot accesses data and the associated oversharing risks;
- perform basic Microsoft 365 Copilot administration tasks, including licensing and usage monitoring;
- perform basic agent administration tasks, including creation, approval and lifecycle management;
- pass AB-900 and earn Microsoft 365 Certified: Copilot and Agent Administration Fundamentals certification.

Module 1: identify key Microsoft 365 features and objects
- Microsoft 365 objects: users, groups, teams, sites and libraries.
- Licence management and its impact on service access.
- Navigating the Microsoft 365 admin centre.
- Zero Trust security principles, authentication and authorisation.
- Microsoft Defender XDR and threat protection capabilities.
- The role of Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and app registrations.
Lab
- Navigate the Microsoft 365 admin centre and review audit logs.
Module 2: understand data protection and governance for Microsoft 365 and Copilot
- How Copilot accesses data and how Microsoft Graph influences its responses.
- Protection controls and permissions in Microsoft 365, Purview and Defender.
- Responsible AI principles.
- Microsoft Purview capabilities: data classification, sensitivity labels and data loss prevention (DLP).
- Insider risk management, communication compliance and the data lifecycle.
- Identifying oversharing in SharePoint and restricted access control.
Lab
- Configure a sensitivity label and DLP policy for a Copilot environment.
Module 3: perform basic administration tasks for Copilot and agents
- Managing Microsoft 365 Copilot licences.
- Monitoring Copilot usage through analytics reports.
- Creating and managing Copilot agents.
- The agent lifecycle: creation, approval and monitoring.
Lab
- Create a Copilot agent and review its usage reports.

Prerequisites
No specific technical prerequisites are required. The course is accessible to anyone new to Microsoft 365 and Copilot.
Recommended: basic familiarity with Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive, will support your progress but is not essential.
