Organisations moving to Azure need administrators who can manage, secure and optimise relational databases in the cloud. Azure SQL, including Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance and SQL Server on Azure virtual machines, is a leading solution for organisations seeking SQL Server capabilities in a managed cloud environment.
This 5-day pathway combines two complementary certifications. The first day covers Azure data fundamentals (DP-900): database concepts, Azure data services and modern data analysis. The following 4 days develop administration skills: planning and deploying data resources, security, monitoring and performance optimisation, task automation, and high availability and disaster recovery.
By the end of the pathway, you will have mastered end-to-end Azure SQL administration in an enterprise environment and be ready to take the official DP-300 exam, included in our offer, to earn the Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate certification (see the Certification tab for details).
Objectives
By the end of this Azure Database Administrator Associate course, you will be able to:
- Describe relational and non-relational Azure database components and Azure cloud data services (DP-900).
- Understand modern data warehouses and analytical workloads in Azure (DP-900).

DP-300: administering Azure relational databases (4 days)
Module 1: understanding the Azure database administrator role
- The Azure database administrator role and its relationship with other data platform roles.
- Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance and SQL Server on Azure virtual machines.
- SQL Server compatibility levels and version-specific features.

- Provision a SQL Server instance on an Azure virtual machine and perform a backup.
Module 2: planning and deploying Azure data resources

Prerequisites
