Module 1: describe security, compliance and identity concepts
- The shared responsibility model and defence in depth.
- The Zero Trust model and its application in cloud environments.
- Encryption, hashing and fundamental compliance concepts.
- Identity as the primary security perimeter: authentication, authorisation and identity providers.
- The role of Active Directory in identity management.
Module 2: describe Microsoft Entra ID capabilities
- Core Microsoft Entra ID services: identities, hybrid identity and external identity types.
- Available authentication methods: multifactor authentication (MFA), self-service password reset (SSPR) and password protection.
- Access management with Conditional Access, Microsoft Entra roles and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Identity governance: entitlement management, access reviews and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
- Identity protection and account risk detection.
Module 3: describe Microsoft security solution capabilities
- Azure network security: DDoS protection, Azure Firewall, web application firewall (WAF), and network segmentation using virtual networks and network security groups.
- Secure virtual machine access with Azure Bastion and data encryption methods.
- Cloud security posture management with Microsoft Defender for Cloud and its advanced security capabilities.
- Threat monitoring and detection with Microsoft Sentinel: SIEM and SOAR concepts and integrated threat management.
- Microsoft Defender XDR solutions: Defender for Office 365, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud Apps, Defender for Identity and the Microsoft Defender portal.
Module 4: describe Microsoft compliance solution capabilities
- The Microsoft Service Trust Portal and privacy principles.
- Compliance management with Microsoft Purview: the compliance portal, Compliance Manager and compliance score.
- Information protection and data lifecycle management: data classification, Content Explorer, sensitivity labels, data loss prevention (DLP) and retention policies.
- Insider risk management with Microsoft Purview: risk management, communication compliance and information barriers.
- Azure resource governance with Azure Policy and unified data governance with Microsoft Purview.
