Our NEBOSH IGC course takes you to the heart of occupational health and safety. You will gain an in-depth understanding of international and national regulations and best practices for preventing workplace accidents and occupational diseases. By the end of the program, you will be ready to take the official NG1/IG1 and NG2/IG2 assessments to earn the NEBOSH International General Certificate (see the Certification tab for details). Program
Part 1: Understanding international health and safety management (5 days)
- The importance of managing occupational health and safety.
- Introduction to health and safety management systems.
- Implementing effective risk management in a business.
- Stakeholder roles in risk management.
- Risk management procedures.
- Assessing, measuring and monitoring workplace safety.
NG1/IG1 assessment:
- Online open-book examination (OBE) followed by a closing interview.
Part 2: Assessing occupational risks (5 days)
- Employees' psychological and physical health.
- Risks of musculoskeletal disorders.
- Exposure to chemical or biological agents.
- Main health and safety hazards.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Preventing fire and electrical risks.
NG2/IG2 assessment: practical workplace risk assessment.

This course is designed for:
- professionals involved in or responsible for occupational health and safety;
- HSE managers or new HSE coordinators seeking to develop their careers in France or internationally.
Prerequisites
No specific skills or professional experience are required to attend this course.
Certification
This course enables you to earn the internationally recognised and accredited NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC). To qualify, you must pass the NG1/IG1 written examination with an individual interview and the NG2/IG2 practical assessment.
How does the NG1/IG1 examination work?
This written examination takes place online, open book (OBE), on the NEBOSH website. You must answer a series of open-ended questions within a maximum of 2 hours. Your NEBOSH online examination portal login details will be sent 3 days before the examination date.
How does the individual interview work?
The interview is organised in the weeks following your written examination. Its date and time are agreed with you in advance. It lasts approximately 10 minutes and takes place online through Microsoft Teams.
This interview has no impact on your written examination marks. It simply confirms your identity and verifies that you completed the examination yourself.
How does the NG2/IG2 assessment work?
- This practical assessment requires you to conduct an in-depth analysis of the risks in your workplace. After your assessment, you must write a detailed report and email it to our certification partner, Astutis.
After these 2 assessments (NG1 and NG2) and the professional interview, you will receive the following results:
- NG1: A numerical mark out of 100, with the following grades:
- Pass: 45-64 points
- Credit: 65-74 points
- Distinction: 75 points and above
- NG2: A qualitative result (pass or fail) based on your ability to conduct a risk assessment and present your findings clearly and concisely.
Your overall qualification grade is determined primarily by your written examination result (NG1). If you pass all assessments, you will receive the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, which is valid for life.
If you fail any assessment, you may register again to retake the relevant assessment.
