Presentation

Working at height exposes people to significant risks, making fall prevention essential. This course is specifically designed to give you the skills needed to manage these hazards and support your safety and that of your working environment.

The one-day programme includes theoretical and practical learning. You will explore the regulatory framework, the physics of falls and different protective measures, both collective and individual. You will also learn about the specific characteristics of fall-protection personal protective equipment (PPE). Practical training lets you practise handling this equipment and analyse a range of real-world situations.

By the end of the course, you will be able to identify hazardous situations when working at height. You will understand the difference between collective and personal protection, and know the standards and characteristics of fall-protection PPE. You will also know how to use fall-protection systems safely and effectively and respond effectively during professional activities at height.

Objectives

By the end of this fall prevention and PPE course, you will be able to:

  • accurately identify situations and risks associated with work at height to support a safe working environment;
  • distinguish effectively between collective and personal protection and understand selection criteria for optimal safety;
  • master applicable standards and the fundamental characteristics of fall-protection personal protective equipment;
  • handle fall-protection equipment safely, including harnesses, lanyards and connectors, ensuring correct fitting and adjustment;
  • develop the responses and skills needed to act effectively in a hazardous situation or incident at height;
  • apply your learning in realistic scenarios and evaluate practices to identify areas for improvement.
