Presentation
An add-on module for Covadis, AutoPiste provides additional tools and features for designing roads and linear transport projects. This course teaches you to master road project design by moving between Covadis and AutoPiste.
Objectives
Through this AutoPiste/Covadis and AutoCAD course, covering Géomédia and Autodesk tools, participants consolidate their knowledge of Covadis's Road Project module and gain an additional tool for migrating or switching between Covadis and AutoPiste while remaining within AutoCAD.
Program
The standard programme below covers:
- Introduction to the software and its menus
- AutoPiste defines a project through interactive horizontal alignment design.
- New horizontal alignment object
- Simple, interactive horizontal alignment modification.
- Design assistance according to ARP, ICTAAL and ICTAVRU standards, with warnings when the design does not comply.
- Choosing the method for placing cross-section stations.
- Managing secondary stations.
- Existing-ground longitudinal profiles.
- Displaying ditches, pipes and inspection chambers on the longitudinal profile.
- Half-section templates
- Layer-based templates: a fast method.
- Point-based templates: a road-oriented method.
- Manage constraints by following support lines.
- Make local project modifications.
- Expand your template library.
- Managing geological layers in AutoPiste
- Automatically manage your materials library.
- Modify embankment and cutting slopes according to the geological layer crossed.
- Display geological layers on all elements.
- Define geological layers according to the available data.
- Cut volumes within each geological layer.
- New design curve object
- A complete module for rehabilitating existing roads.
- Automatic excavation.
- Reprofiling calculations and minimum thickness.
- Optimising pavement strengthening.
- Automatic display of the existing roadway.
- Roundabout design.
- T- and X-junction design.
- Ramp design.
- Create the ditch in the project cross-section template.
- Automatically draw ditches on the longitudinal profile.
- Interactively manage flow on the longitudinal profile.
- Influence the depth of modelled ditches.
- Calculate the project.
- GTAR
- AutoPiste checks the capacity of road-platform ditches, gutters and channels in accordance with the recommendations of SETRA's Technical Guide to Road Drainage (GTAR).
- GTPOR
- AutoPiste sizes a road runoff basin, including dead storage, for accidental or chronic pollution in accordance with SETRA's Technical Guide to Road-Origin Pollution (GTPOR). It also checks the basin's sizing as a detention basin.
- NEW
- AutoPiste enables compliance with SETRA's GTAR and GTPOR technical guide recommendations.
Audience
This course is intended for mining companies, design consultancies and public works companies, road and civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, surveyors, senior technicians, designers and surveying operators.
Prerequisites
Windows and technical drawing knowledge is required, with AutoCAD and Covadis knowledge considered necessary. Participants should also have knowledge of surveying, road engineering, geotechnics and/or geology.
