Certification CBAP®: Certified Business Analysis Professional

CBAP® — Certified Business Analysis Professional is an IIBA qualification for experienced business analysis professionals. It concerns the ability to analyse business needs, work with stakeholders and evaluate solutions using established business analysis practices.

OO2 preparation connects the concepts of the BABOK® Guide with practical situations: clarifying requirements, managing competing expectations and explaining the value of a proposed solution. Preparing for the examination and having an application accepted are separate steps.

Check eligibility before applying

IIBA requires documented business analysis experience, professional development and references, as well as acceptance of its terms and code of conduct. Its published requirements include 7,500 hours of relevant experience and 35 hours of professional development within the specified periods. Consult the current handbook for the detailed distribution of experience, acceptable evidence and application process.

Professional preparation should combine review of the knowledge areas with scenario-based reasoning. A course does not replace the experience requirement, guarantee application approval or automatically award the credential.
