Presentation
Data centres are central to many organisations, and an interruption to their operation can cause significant damage. To address this need, ANSI/TIA-942 sets out specific requirements and procedures for data centre design and construction. Its main purpose is to help designers master technical aspects, including architectural, mechanical, electrical and telecommunications specifications, for which common standards may not always exist.
This 3-day course enables IT professionals to learn how to design a data centre in accordance with ANSI/TIA-942. You will gain the key knowledge needed to understand this American standard's requirements and how to implement them. The 12 teaching sections address all types of facilities, from enterprise data centres to third-party multi-tenant data centres, including colocation, managed services and cloud providers.
At the end of the course, you will take an official examination leading to the Certified TIA-942 Design Consultant (CTDC®) certification. Designed for professionals involved in the design, construction, maintenance and operation of mission-critical data centres, it enables you to become a TIA-942-certified design consultant.
Objectives
By the end of the EPI TIA-942 Design Consultant course, you will be able to:
- understand and implement TIA-942 requirements;
- understand the standard's financial implications to avoid over- or under-investment;
- select redundancy levels and infrastructure aligned with customer needs;
- master the factors and requirements involved in high-availability data centre design;
- understand the processes required to establish a data centre under TIA-942;
- understand the relationship between TIA-942 and other international standards;
- pass the CTDC® examination and obtain the Certified TIA-942 Design Consultant credential.
