Design and implement software tests using the ISTQB approach
Software quality depends on planned checks, not an impression that everything works. Structure test analysis, design and execution to identify defects and document results. Strengthen your contribution to validation decisions and dialogue with the product team.

Presentation
Where software quality is a decisive factor in performance, reliability and user satisfaction, mastering testing activities has become a strategic skill for software professionals. As systems become more complex and development cycles accelerate, organisations need professionals who can effectively design, structure and implement test campaigns.
This 3-day course structures and professionalises testing through methodological principles recognised by the ISTQB Foundation syllabus, while meeting the operational requirements of the French certification framework “Concevoir et déployer des tests logiciels” (Design and implement software tests). Gain a comprehensive, structured view of testing, from requirements analysis and an appropriate strategy to test execution, defect management, campaign management and reporting.
Through methodological input and professional scenarios, develop a rigorous, traceable, risk-oriented approach. The course prepares you for RS7450 certification, “Concevoir et déployer des tests logiciels”, awarded by Oo2 and included in the course price (see the Certification tab for details).
Oo2 is a training organisation specialising in professional certifications and technical competencies in management, cybersecurity, project management and software quality, supporting organisations and professionals in developing expertise and performance.
Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- analyse a software project's context to identify quality issues, associated risks and the coverage required to validate the product;
- structure a test strategy by selecting appropriate test levels and types based on the development lifecycle, project constraints and identified risks;
- formalise a test strategy in a structured deliverable covering objectives, scope, responsibilities, entry and exit criteria, and human and technical resources;
- apply appropriate test design techniques, including equivalence partitioning, boundary values, decision tables, state transitions and structural coverage, ensuring methodological consistency and test case traceability;
- justify the choice between static and dynamic testing according to the software, analysis context and validation objectives;
- develop complete, reproducible test scenarios specifying preconditions, input data, execution steps and expected results;
- configure and use a test environment meeting defined prerequisites and established procedures;
- execute test cases and systematically compare actual and expected results to assess software behaviour objectively;
- document detected defects in a tracking tool, precisely describing reproduction conditions, observed differences, severity and priority;
- organise and manage a test campaign by planning activities, estimating effort, prioritising by risk and building appropriate monitoring tools;
- analyse test indicators and assess residual risks to produce a structured report supporting decisions;
- contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring defects, analysing lessons learned and recommending corrective and preventive actions;
- validate the competencies required for RS7450 certification, “Concevoir et déployer des tests logiciels”.
