This course develops the skills needed to build a successful business strategy on social media. Whether you lead a microbusiness or SME, are a sole trader, or manage communication and marketing, promoting products or services on social media represents a genuine business opportunity.
The program provides a comprehensive set of techniques and tools to create professional pages that engage customers and make an impact. A further strength of this social media marketing course is that it develops the basic skills to write quality content using copywriting techniques and create eye-catching visuals with Canva.
After completing this CPF-eligible certification course, you will be able to use social media to grow your business. You can also earn the professional certification “Développer l'activité commerciale par les réseaux sociaux” — developing business through social media (see the Certification tab for details) — awarded by Alternative Digitale and registered in France Compétences’ Répertoire Spécifique under RS7643.

Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- understand the role of social media in business development;
- understand and compare major social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn;
- define SMART business objectives for your organisation;
- develop a responsible social media communication strategy that incorporates accessibility and environmental considerations;
- create or enhance a business account on selected social networks;
- create an editorial calendar consistent with your social media strategy;
- design engaging written content and visuals, including with generative AI tools;
- create engaging, original promotional videos;
- define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) using a dashboard;
- analyse KPIs to measure the relevance of your actions and continuously adjust your social selling strategy;
- prepare for and obtain the “Développer l'activité commerciale par les réseaux sociaux” certification.
Program
Day 1: defining your social media strategy according to your business objectives
- The role of social media in your organisation’s business development.
- Comparative analysis of social networks: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and others.
- Defining the SMART business objectives to achieve.
- Developing a responsible social media strategy that incorporates accessibility and environmental considerations.
- Creating an editorial calendar based on your social media strategy.
Practical work
- analyse and select the most relevant social networks for your organisation;
- develop an initial outline of your social media strategy.
Day 2: creating content for your social media strategy
- Using Canva to create compelling editorial content and appropriate visuals.
- Designing written and visual content with generative AI tools.
- Creating attractive, original promotional videos suited to the targeted social networks.
Practical work
- create editorial content, visuals and advertising videos for your organisation’s page.
Day 3: implementing your social media strategy
- Creating or enhancing a business account on the targeted social networks.
- Defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) using a dashboard.
- Using indicators to measure performance and evaluate social selling effectiveness.
Practical work
- configure and optimise your social accounts, then launch test campaigns;
- analyse the performance of the content and campaigns implemented.
Day 4: reviewing and developing your social media strategy
- Review of the concepts and strategies covered during the first three days.
- Assessment advice and tips.
Practical work and group reflection sessions
- each participant individually writes a social media strategy tailored to their business development project and incorporating newly acquired knowledge;
- participants take turns presenting their social media strategy to the class;
- collective feedback from the instructor and other participants provides suggestions, corrections and reflections to optimise each person’s plan.

- microbusiness and SME leaders and sole traders, the primary audience of the certification framework;
- employees responsible for communication and marketing who want to develop the same skills without necessarily seeking individual certification;

Prerequisites
This certification course requires:
- Digital knowledge: general knowledge of digital tools and social networks.
- A business project: a social media business development project through which to apply the acquired skills alongside the course.
