Presentation
GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation, known as RGPD in French. This framework governs the processing of personal data within the European Union. It applies to organisations processing personal data within the regulation's scope. In France, compliance is overseen by the French data protection authority, the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL).
The GDPR Foundation course provides the basic knowledge needed to implement and manage procedures for applying the General Data Protection Regulation within a business. Over 2 days, you will explore data protection principles and become familiar with GDPR guidelines and their meaning. You will then examine the role of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) before concluding with the implementation of a GDPR compliance framework.
This course prepares you to take the PECB GDPR Foundation examination and earn the associated certification. The PECB Certified GDPR Foundation credential demonstrates your understanding of the fundamental principles, guidelines and management processes relating to personal data protection regulations.
Objectives
By the end of this GDPR Foundation course, you will be able to:
- understand the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation and the fundamental principles of privacy;
- understand the obligations, role and responsibilities of the Data Protection Officer;
- understand the concepts, approaches, methods and techniques needed to contribute effectively to implementing a personal data protection compliance framework.
Program
Day 1:
- Explore the fundamentals of data protection within a business.
- Introduction to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Day 2:
- Detailed review and analysis of the General Data Protection Regulation's requirements.
- Explore the role of the Data Protection Officer (DPO).
- Understand how to implement a GDPR compliance framework.
Final half-day
- Take the PECB GDPR Foundation certification examination (duration: 1 hour).
