Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is the latest version of the IP (Internet Protocol) standard used to transmit data over the Internet. It was created to gradually replace IPv4 because its allocated addresses were being exhausted. IPv6 is now necessary to ensure continued network growth and enable new devices and services to connect reliably and securely.
