Presentation
ISO 9001 is the first international management systems standard. Its requirements focus on establishing, managing, maintaining and continually improving an organisation's quality management system (QMS). Based on 7 quality management principles, ISO 9001:2015 aims to help organisations work more efficiently and improve the service they provide to customers.
The ISO 9001 Foundation course provides the basic knowledge needed to implement and operate a quality management system that meets the standard's requirements. You will learn how the different elements of a QMS work, including policy, processes, performance measurement, management commitment, internal audits, management reviews and QMS performance evaluation.
After completing the course, you can take the official ISO 9001 Foundation exam to obtain the PECB Certificate Holder in ISO 9001 Foundation designation. This entry-level certification demonstrates your understanding of the basic QMS methods, requirements, framework and management concepts.
Objectives
By the end of the ISO 9001 Foundation course, you will be able to:
- Understand and explain the concepts and definition of a quality management system.
- Identify and describe the main ISO 9001 requirements for a QMS.
- Define measures and methods that help organisations comply with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Pass the ISO 9001 Foundation exam and obtain the PECB Certificate Holder in ISO 9001 Foundation certificate.
Program
Day 1: QMS and ISO 9001 fundamentals
- Understand the concept of quality.
- Introduction to a quality management system (QMS).
- Understand clauses 4 to 6 of ISO 9001.
Day 2: Requirements for an ISO 9001-compliant QMS
- Understand ISO 9001 clauses 7 to 10 for a QMS.
Final half-day:
- Take the ISO 9001 Foundation certification exam (duration: 1 hour).
