Presentation
Microsoft Teams has become a cornerstone of organisational collaboration, bringing together meetings, calls, chat, channel management and third-party applications. Administering it across an organisation requires a thorough understanding of configuration, security and governance.
This course lasting 4 days develops the skills to configure and manage a complete Teams environment. You will learn to manage teams, channels, chats and applications, as well as administer meetings and calls. You will also learn to monitor, generate reports and troubleshoot your Teams environment.
By the end of the course, you will be ready to take the MS-700 examination included in our offer. Passing leads to Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate certification (see the Certification tab for details).
Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- plan network settings and assess bandwidth capacity for Teams;
- manage Teams security and compliance, including threat policies, sensitivity labels and data loss prevention (DLP);
- plan and implement Teams governance, including update and naming policies;
- configure and manage external collaboration, including guest access;
- create and manage teams, channels and chats;
- manage Teams applications, including assignment policies and permissions;
- manage meetings, events and calls through Teams Phone;
- monitor, report on and troubleshoot a Teams environment;
- pass MS-700 and earn Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate certification.
Program
Module 1: Configure and manage a Teams environment
- Plan network settings: bandwidth capacity, impact analysis using Network Planner, and ports and protocols used by Teams.
- Assess network readiness using Microsoft Teams Network Assessment and the Microsoft 365 network connectivity test.
- Manage security and compliance: administrator roles, threat policies with Microsoft Defender for Office 365, retention policies and sensitivity labels.
- Configure data loss prevention (DLP) policies and Microsoft Entra Conditional Access for Teams.
- Plan and implement governance: update policies, policy packages and Microsoft 365 group creation settings.
- Archive, delete and restore teams and Microsoft 365 groups.
- Perform Teams operations using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.
- Configure external collaboration: SharePoint/OneDrive external sharing, guest access, shared channels and multi-tenant organisation (MTO).
- Manage Teams clients and devices, including Microsoft Teams Rooms.

Module 2: Manage teams, channels, chats and applications
- Create and manage teams through the admin centre, a template, a Microsoft 365 group or an existing SharePoint site.
- Manage team membership, roles and privacy settings.
- Create and manage frontline teams.
- Manage channels: standard, private and shared types, creation, editing, sharing policies and messaging policies.
- Manage Teams applications: organisational settings, assignments, permissions and app store customisation.

- Create a team from a template, configure shared channels and manage application policies.
Module 3: Manage meetings and calls
- Recommend suitable meeting types: appointments, webinars, town halls and standard meetings.
- Configure meeting settings, including Microsoft 365 Copilot settings.
- Create templates and customisation policies for meetings and events.
- Configure and manage Teams webinars and town halls.
- Provision and manage telephone numbers for users, services and conferencing bridges.
- Manage voice settings, calling policies, auto-attendants and call queues.
Lab
- Configure a meeting policy and provision a Teams Phone number.
Module 4: Monitor, report on and troubleshoot Teams
- Monitor voice and meeting quality and configure alert rules.
- Generate Teams usage reports covering activity, application use, active users and storage.
- Monitor team creation/deletion and guest access.
- Collect client-side logs and clear the Teams cache.
- Troubleshoot installation, sign-in and audio/video quality issues.
- Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI experiences in Teams.
Lab
- Analyse a Teams usage report and diagnose a connection issue using diagnostic tools.
