Presentation
MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) is an essential project management framework. It provides a systematic, dynamic approach to improving project or programme performance and the achievement of results. MEAL is a quality-focused approach encompassing:
- continuous monitoring of project activities, progress and results (Monitoring);
- systematic evaluation to determine project impact and effectiveness (Evaluation);
- promoting a culture of responsibility and transparency (Accountability) among stakeholders;
- creating organisational learning mechanisms to adapt strategies based on knowledge gained (Learning).
Through this MEAL course, project managers and leaders will be able to identify and measure performance against objectives and promote adaptive project management. They can thereby ensure that projects respond to changing contexts and deliver meaningful, lasting impacts.
The programme also provides a compass for navigating the complexity of project implementation, building a culture of continuous improvement and maximising positive outcomes. It helps organisations make informed decisions, improve project effectiveness and remain accountable to beneficiaries and donors.
