Presentation
Beyond routine Teams administration, organisations now deploy complete communications systems: Teams Phone telephony, connected meeting rooms, webinars and large-scale town halls. Designing and operating these systems requires advanced technical expertise in networking, telecommunications and audiovisual technologies.
This 5-day course provides the skills to plan, configure and manage end-to-end Teams communications systems. You will learn to design meeting and telephony solutions, implement and configure Teams Phone, and manage Teams Rooms and certified devices.
By the end of the programme, you will be ready to take the MS-721 examination included in our offer. Passing it earns you Microsoft 365 Certified: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer Associate certification (see the Certification tab for details).
Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Plan and design Teams meeting, webinar and town hall solutions;
- Plan and design Teams Phone and PSTN connectivity, including Direct Routing;
- Recommend Teams-certified device solutions based on business requirements;
- Prepare the network for Teams, including quality of service (QoS);
- Configure and manage meetings, audio conferencing, webinars and town halls;
- Implement and configure Teams Phone: dial plans, auto attendants, call queues and emergency calling;
- Assign Teams Phone licences, telephone numbers and policies;
- Configure Direct Routing for Teams Phone;
- Configure and manage Teams Rooms and devices on Windows and Android;
- Pass MS-721 and earn Microsoft 365 Certified: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer Associate certification.

Module 1: plan and design communications systems
- Planning Teams meetings, webinars and town halls, with their associated policies and settings.
- Planning PSTN audio conferencing and recommending Teams Premium and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Planning Teams Phone and PSTN connectivity: licensing, Operator Connect, Teams Phone Mobile, service and user numbers.
- Designing call flows for auto attendants and call queues, and dynamic emergency calling solutions.
- Recommending Teams-certified devices and room configurations (BYOD, Teams Rooms Basic/Pro, Windows/Android).
- Preparing the network for Teams: assessment with Teams Network Assessment Tool, quality of service (QoS) and optimal network architecture.

- Assess network readiness and design a Teams communications architecture for a given scenario.
Module 2: configure and manage meetings, webinars and town halls
- Creating and managing meeting policies and settings, including meeting templates and advanced features.
- Configuring meeting recording and transcription for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams Premium.
- Configuring audio conferencing: default bridges, toll-free numbers and user number assignment.
- Configuring roles, access and policies for Teams webinars.
- Configuring Teams town hall settings and advanced features, including Viva Engage integration.

Module 3: implement and configure Teams Phone
- Creating and configuring Teams Phone policies: dial plans, calling, caller ID and voicemail.
- Creating and configuring resource accounts, auto attendants and call queues.
- Configuring emergency calling: locations, routing policies and address validation.
- Assigning Teams Phone licences, telephone numbers and policies to users.
- Configuring calling features: cloud voicemail, call forwarding, simultaneous ringing and call delegation.
- Configuring Direct Routing: SBC connectivity, voice routes and routing policies.

- Configure a dial plan, an auto attendant and a Direct Routing voice routing policy.
Module 4: configure and manage Teams Rooms and devices
- Managing and maintaining Teams Rooms and devices: settings, updates and health monitoring.
- Configuring and managing Teams devices on Android: configuration profiles and remote deployment.
- Configuring Teams Rooms on Windows: Group Policy exclusions and XML file customisation.
- Configuring optional features: content camera, proximity join, room remote and direct guest join.
- Configuring BYOD spaces and bookable desks.
