Presentation

In an environment where a production bug can cost millions, this 3-day course brings together the key skills of software test engineering. You will alternate short theory sessions with practical workshops: designing test cases, applying equivalence partitioning, managing defect tickets with severity and priority levels, and tracking results in real time through dashboards. Across 8 modules, you will build a complete test plan, execute real-world scenarios and deliver a report suitable for a Product Owner or decision-maker.

Each half-day is treated as a sprint: you start with a test backlog, estimate effort, deploy the environment, execute tests and analyse them. You will use tracking tools such as Jira or Excel for these scenarios. By the end of the course, you will know how to establish a risk-aligned test strategy, prioritise defects and demonstrate the quality impact delivered to governance stakeholders.

This intensive programme also prepares you for our official certification, “Concevoir et déployer des tests logiciels” (Design and deploy software tests) (see the Certification section for details). You will leave with the skills to build your professional portfolio (test plan, scenarios and defect management), ready to replicate on your next project.

Objectives

By the end of this software testing course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the importance of quality and the challenges of software testing within a development project;
  • design a relevant test strategy suited to functional needs and project constraints;
  • apply different test case design techniques, such as equivalence classes and decision tables;
  • document test scenarios that are comprehensive, easily reproducible and traceable;
  • organise preparation and execute manual tests in a specified test environment;
  • record defects discovered during test execution in a structured way;
  • anticipate and organise testing activities by assessing workload and prioritising tasks;
  • clearly present test campaign results and recommend future improvements.
