ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer: Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) Implementation Lead

Today, thanks to rapid technological advances, artificial intelligence (AI) is nearly everywhere. It is becoming widespread across many sectors, but its evolution requires specific skills to ensure proper use while respecting ethical standards.

This training is designed to provide you with practical skills in the implementation and responsible management of an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) in compliance with the ISO/IEC 42001 standard, published in 2023. It will provide you with essential knowledge, introduce you to best practices for AI implementation, and give you a governance model that allows seamless integration within your organization.

At the end of this program, and after passing the exam, you will be able to obtain the official title of PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer (more information available in the certification section).

Targets

By the end of the ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer training, you will be able to:

  • Understand the principles and operation of an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS) based on the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 standard
  • Know the specific requirements of ISO/IEC 42001 related to the role of Lead Implementer of an AIMS
  • Apply the PECB IMS2 methodology and other best practices to implement an AIMS in compliance with ISO/IEC 42001
  • Support an organization in the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of an AIMS
  • Assist an organization in preparing for a certification audit conducted by an independent body
  • Successfully pass the PECB ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer exam and obtain one of the four associated certifications

Day 1: Introduction to ISO/IEC 42001 and AIMS

Day 2: Planning the Implementation of an AIMS

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure AIMS effectiveness
  • Assessing potential risks related to implementation
  • Defining mitigation strategies

Day 3: Implementing an AIMS

  • Establishing AIMS policies and procedures
  • Training staff on new AI-related processes and technologies
  • Integrating AI management tools into existing operational processes
  • Assessing compliance with ISO/IEC 42001:2023 requirements

Day 4: Monitoring, Continuous Improvement, and Preparing for Certification Audit

  • Preparing for the ISO/IEC 42001 certification audit
  • Reviewing compliance requirements and best practices for audit success

Day 5 (half-day): Exam Preparation

This training allows you to take the professional certification exam PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer. A coupon code will be provided at the end of the course, allowing you to schedule your exam at the date and time of your choice.

Exam details:

The exam is available in French or English and is conducted online. Format: multiple-choice questionnaire (MCQ) with 80 questions. Duration: 3 hours maximum. The exam complies with the requirements of the PECB examination and certification program. It covers the following areas of competence:

  • Principles and fundamental concepts of an Artificial Intelligence Management System (AIMS)
  • AIMS requirements
  • Planning and implementing an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
  • Monitoring and measuring an AIMS based on ISO/IEC 42001
  • Continual improvement and preparation for an AIMS certification audit

Certification information:

Once you have passed the exam and met the requirements, you may apply for one of the following four certifications:

  • PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Provisional Implementer: No professional experience required; signing of the PECB Code of Ethics
  • PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Implementer: 2 years of professional experience, including 1 year in AI management; 200 hours of project activities; signing of the PECB Code of Ethics
  • PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Implementer: 5 years of professional experience, including 2 years in AI management; 300 hours of project activities; signing of the PECB Code of Ethics
  • PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Senior Lead Implementer: 10 years of professional experience, including 7 years in AI management; 1,000 hours of project activities; signing of the PECB Code of Ethics
