What is Lead Cybersecurity Manager certification?
Lead Cybersecurity Manager certification, awarded by our partner PECB, is primarily intended for experienced cyber defence or IT security professionals. These may include information systems security managers and directors, as well as professionals involved in managing the security and protection of information systems. The certification develops the knowledge and skills needed to manage a cybersecurity programme effectively within a business.
Topics covered include planning and implementing a cybersecurity programme, risk management, compliance with ISO 27032 and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, awareness, incident management, change management and related areas.
Please note: following the changes introduced in ISO/IEC 27032:2023, this certification was originally known as ISO/IEC 27032 Lead Cybersecurity Manager.
How can you become a Certified Lead Cybersecurity Manager?
To become a Certified Lead Cybersecurity Manager, you must complete the following steps:
- Attend training: our Lead Cybersecurity Manager course develops the skills needed to implement, manage and continually improve a cybersecurity programme.
- Take an examination: after completing the training programme, you must take the online PECB Certified Cybersecurity Manager examination. It covers several competency areas, including the fundamental principles and concepts of cybersecurity.
- Have professional experience: certification requires at least 2 years of experience in cybersecurity.
- Accumulate practical work hours: you must have completed at least 300 hours of cybersecurity project activities.
- Sign the Code of Ethics: every candidate must sign the PECB Code of Ethics, regardless of the certification selected.
Once these 5 steps are complete, you will be awarded PECB Certified Lead Cybersecurity Manager certification. It demonstrates that you have the practical knowledge and technical skills to support and lead a team in cybersecurity programme management activities.
