Presentation
For junior system and network administrators, the ability to manage Linux operating system fundamentals is essential, whatever the distribution. Our LPIC-1 course is a first learning step towards validating your foundational skills. It prepares you to take the first exam, LPIC-1 101-500, fulfilling the first requirement for LPIC-1 Linux Administrator certification.
This 4-day Linux course covers architecture, deployment techniques and package management. It also addresses basic Linux commands, partitioning and file system structure.
A mock exam at the end assesses understanding across all topics. You also receive the LPI-101 learning kit, including a notepad, a pen with highlighter and the official LPIC-1 certification preparation book.
Objectives
The Linux LPIC-1 101 course develops the ability to:

Running GNU and Unix commands
- Interacting with shells and commands at the command line.
- Applying filters to text streams.
- Using basic Linux commands to manage files and directories.
- Redirecting and combining streams to process text efficiently.
- Basic process and priority management.
- Manipulating text files and data with regular expressions.
- Editing text files with vi.
Managing disks and understanding file systems
- Configuring disk partitions and creating file systems on storage media.
- Maintaining standard file system integrity and associated journaling information.
- Configuring file system mounting.
- Controlling file access through appropriate permissions and ownership.
- Creating and managing hard and symbolic links.
- Finding files and placing them in the correct locations.
